AI features are now opt-in

Your bid documents are confidential. Spec books, contracts, wage determinations — you hold them under obligations to GCs and owners, and you should decide, explicitly, whether any of it touches an AI system.

So we made it a switch, and it starts off.

What the switch governs. "Ask your documents", contract analysis, wage-determination import, and text recovery from scanned pages. Those features work by sending document text (or page images, for scans) to our AI providers — Anthropic and Voyage AI. With the switch off, none of that leaves the platform: nothing your company uploads is transmitted to any AI system, and those features simply say so instead of running.

What it doesn't change. Everything else in STrOp — your pipeline, estimating, billing, compliance reporting, document storage — involves no AI and works exactly the same either way. Document indexing and the folder tree are built by ordinary software on our own servers, not by AI.

Where your content goes when it's on. To Anthropic and Voyage AI, to answer the question or parse the document you asked about — never to train their models, never shared with other companies, and automatically expired from their systems per their retention windows. Turning the switch off stops all future transmission immediately.

To turn it on: an organization admin flips the switch under Settings → AI document processing. The change is written to the audit log, both ways, like every other policy change.
