Assemblies price labor from your production rates

Assemblies used to store labor as a flat $/unit. A 2025 assembly priced 2027 labor at 2025 wages, and nobody could tell how much of the number was wage and how much was productivity.

Now a labor component can link a production rate:

  • Link it in Settings → Assemblies. The new Production Rate column on a labor row lists the rates in that component's unit. Once it's linked, the unit cost reads per bid.
  • Insert it into an estimate. The labor line takes its daily production from the rate and prices at that estimate's labor rate. Same assembly on two bids with different labor windows: same SF/day, different $/SF.
  • Save as template keeps the rate. Saving an assembly from an estimate keeps each labor line's rate link, instead of freezing today's wage into the template.

A linked line works like any other rate-priced line. It shows the stale flag when the library moves, and you can adjust it for job conditions in the LD calculator. No labor rate set on the estimate? The typed $/unit is used as before.
