The radar: a home for the jobs you've heard about but haven't been invited to
Half your best work starts as a rumor. A rep mentions a hospital expansion over lunch. A GC's PM lets slip something coming in Mission Bay. That intel used to live in your head or die in a text thread — too vague for a project record, too valuable to lose.
Opportunities (under CRM) gives it a home. Log what you heard and who you heard it from — that's all the radar needs. GC, rough value, expected bid date, the manufacturer angle: add them as the picture fills in.
Then the radar item does one of two things:
- The invite lands — hit Convert to bid and it becomes a real pursuit project at the top of your pipeline, carrying everything over: the source contact, the value, the notes. The intel chain stays visible — the pursuit remembers which rumor it grew from.
- The job never materializes — mark it dead with a one-line reason and it archives quietly. No orphaned project records cluttering the pipeline.
Below the radar, Active Pursuits shows your open bids with the relationship context the kanban doesn't carry: your win rate with that GC, your key contact there, and where each bid came from.
And because chasing work is calls and lunches before it's bids: log BD activity — calls, meetings, site visits, conferences — right from any company page. The CRM home now runs a feed of recent activity next to the needs-attention list, so Monday morning shows you both what's moving and what's slipping.
