Your custom fields, now columns you can sort and filter

Custom fields have been good at holding information and bad at showing it. You could put an ICP bucket or a PW-active flag on every company, then had to open each record one at a time to see any of it. That's fixed on the Companies directory.

Every select field you've defined is now a column, sortable, with its own row of filter chips — including a No <field> chip for the records that don't have a value yet, which is usually the list you actually want to work. Text, number and date fields are available too; they start hidden because free-form values are wide, and you turn them on from the new Fields button in the toolbar. What you pick sticks, so the directory looks the way you left it next time.

Two details worth knowing:

  • Select fields sort in your order, not alphabetically. If your options run contacted → discovery scheduled → design partner, sorting by that column walks the progression instead of jumping to whatever starts with A. Records with no value sort to the bottom.
  • The export follows the view. Select rows, hit Export CSV, and the columns you have showing come along with their values.

Companies first because that's where the pile is. Contacts and projects use the same machinery and will follow.
