Photo log: select, download, and build a site report

The project photo log could take photos in, but never let them back out. Now it does.

Select what you need. Hover a photo and a checkbox appears in the corner — click to select, shift-click to take a run of them, or hit select day on any day header to grab that whole day. A bar slides up from the bottom with what you can do to the selection. Keyboard works too: arrows to move, x to select, ↵ to open, esc to clear.

Download. One photo from its tile or from the lightbox, or the whole selection as a zip. Files come out named for the job — acme-tower-20260730-safety-03.jpg instead of IMG_4471.jpg — and the zip carries a manifest.csv listing every photo with its date, category, caption and GPS coordinates. That's the difference between a bag of pixels and something you can attach to an RFI or a claim.

Site report. Select the photos that tell the story, hit Site report, and you get a printable document on your company letterhead with the project, the address, the GC, the date range and a category breakdown. Choose one, two, or four photos per page, turn captions on or off, group by category, and add a summary paragraph. Print or Save as PDF from there — margins are already set.

Fixes that came with it:

• Captions and categories are editable. Open a photo and type — a mis-typed caption or a progress shot filed as safety no longer means delete-and-reupload. You can re-categorize a whole selection at once from the bulk bar.
• Deleting asks first. Deleting a photo removes the image file too, and there's no undo, so it now confirms — including on a bulk delete.
• Past 200 photos. The log used to stop at 200 with nothing to say about it. It now loads a page at a time with a Load more button, so the older photos are actually reachable.
• No more broken thumbnails. Photo links expire after an hour. Leave the tab open past that and the grid used to fill with broken images; now it quietly refreshes the links the moment one goes stale.

Also new in the lightbox: click the image to zoom in on the spot you clicked, and photos captured with location data show a 📍 Location link.
